Travelling with a strict diet in another country is not that easy. Whether it’s a halal diet, kosher, gluten free or vegan, you want to make sure you adhere to your strict diet. Sometimes it’s difficult to find a restaurant that cater to your diet in a foreign land. So when I saw so many halal restaurants in Tokyo, I immediately wanted to share it with you all.
Tasting an authentic food when you travelling is a big part of travel experience. Of course you don’t want to miss it at all. For anyone who are wondering on how to maintain their strict halal diet during their travel time in Tokyo, Japan, worry no more. You can find many halal restaurants in Tokyo that serve authentic Japanese cuisine or other etnic cuisine. It seems Japan really wants to accommodate and promote halal tourism.
Here are some halal restaurants in Tokyo to satisfy your cravings:
Naritaya halal Ramen Shop
This restaurant is located right behind Sensoji Temple, inside the strip mall. Basically it’s a hole in the wall kind of place. It offers different type of Halal Ramen (quick cooking noodle served with meat or veggie). While the ramen tastes good, the place is not fancy at all. Perfect for a quick bite if you want to try authentic Ramen. This restaurant also offers a prayer room for customers on the second floor.
Halal Ramen Ouka
This place is located in Shinjuku area. As the name state it, this restaurant offers halal ramen. This place is also perfect for vegan because it offers vegan ramen. Since the place is small to accommodate many customers, it is better to call ahead of time and make a reservation to avoid waiting.
Sakura Halal
Craving for yakiniku or commonly referred to as Japanese barbeque? Then you have found the right halal restaurant in Tokyo. This place also serves ramen and wagyu beef. Where else you are going to try theauthentic wagyu beef but in Japan. So satisfy all of your cravings here.You are in japan, so wagyu beef It is located in Asakusa, Tokyo, closed to Uguisudani station.
Asakusa Sushi Ken
As you probably know that it is hard to find halal sushi since sushi is made with sake so finding a halal sushi restaurant on one of the main street in Asakusa area is quite refreshing. Lucky for me, it was within walking distance from my hotel in Asakusa. This place offer different type of sushi, tempura lunch set, sashimi and many more. You can reach this place by taking Tokyo Metro Ginza line then walk a couple blocks. This is my favorite one among halal restaurants in Tokyo.
Mamo Kebab Café
This halal kebab place is located only one block away from Shibuya Crossing. It is right across from Mc Donald. The place offers Doner (gyro) sandwich with a flat bread and kebab on skewer. If you want to try something different while you exploring Shibuya, you might want to check this out.
Halal Food Saray Kebab
This kebab shop serves halal Turkish cuisine. While this is one of many halal restaurants in Tokyo, you still need to ask the server to verify which meat come from a halal slaughtering to be sure. This restaurant is within walking distance from Tawaramachi station.
The kebab Factory
This is one of few halal restaurants in Tokyo that specializes in the Turkish cuisine. The menu includes kebab, donner, soup, fresh salad, fries and Turkish ice cream and juices. It’s very close to Tobu station in Asakusa area. So whenever you are exploring Tokyo and craving for some fresh juices and halal kebab, this is definitely a place to go.
