When you visit Las Vegas, a trip to Grand Canyon is just an excursion of your Vegas’s trip. You can even take a tour from Las Vegas to the West Rim of Grand Canyon. I wanted to hike and see more of Grand Canyon National Park, so four of us decided to rent the car and drove from Las Vegas to the South Rim of Grand Canyon. It was about four hour drive. The first time I heard about treetop adventure was at the dining table with a group of friends who were trying to set up a trip to Pocono Mountain in Pennsylvania. There are several places in Pocono that offer treetop adventure. Somehow the plan didn’t go thru. So on the trip to Michigan, I decided to cross the border to Canada to try the treetop adventure at Boler Mountain. Boler Mountain is located in London, Ontario, Canada. Despite its name, Boler Mountain looks more like a hill than a mountain. Continue reading
The Kronborgh castle is best known as the Hamlet castle, since the setting of Shakespeare’s Hamlet took place on this castle. This 16th century castle is located in the town of HelsingØr, about forty four minutes away by train from Copenhagen central station (Kovenhavn H). Situated along the stretch of water between Denmark and Sweden, Kronborgh castle was feared for its strength as a fortress back in the day and now admired for its beauty as a castle. Continue reading
What I remember the most about Copenhagen is their Danish rolls, the smell and the taste of this roll is a treat for my sweet tooth. Of course Copenhagen offers more than just variety of pastries, the city of Hans Christian Anderson offers so many things and place to explore such as Tivoli garden, Nyhavn, Kovenhavn H and Christianborg palace. What do you do if you have 12 hours layover in Stockholm? Should you sit nicely in the airport eating Swedish meatball or should you venture out to the city? I chose the latter option. Dying of wanting to experience the thrill of zip lining over the rain forest, made me flew over 2000 miles to San Jose, Costa Rica. It was my first time in Costa Rica, so I took a guided zip line course. The zip line course took place in the nearest cloud forest from the central valley and in the foot hill of Barva volcano, Heredia. Continue reading
No doubt, there’s something between me and Australia, some unspoken bond. From the time I was planning to study there for my graduate school which didn’t happened to the time I was planning to go there for honeymoon which didn’t happen either since I didn’t end up marrying that guy. Explore the Blue Mountain for a quick experience of Australian wild life and some thrilling rides. Blue Mountain is located two hours away from Sidney. Our first stop is Wentworth falls, we walked thru the rain forest to see the beautiful view. The following stop was Featherdale wild life. I purposely skipped the Sidney zoo because what I had in mind was a close interaction with animals which Featherdale wild life in Blue Mountain has to offer without paying extra fee for a close encounter.
What’s trip to Sidney without cruising down Parramatta River or a stop at the iconic landmark of Sidney opera house. When I was a kid, I often imagined that someday I would visit the opera house. So on my trip to Sidney, I made sure that I covered everything I wanted to see in 3 days. Even for an optimist, I know that’s a pretty ambitious plan, since Sidney is a big city and offers ton of things to see and to do. Continue reading
