Living in today’s modern society where information are overload, you want to pick and choose what kind of important information that you actually need. Having so many options of travel apps out there can be overwhelming on what to choose. After trying many travel apps to streamline my travel experience, I have compiled must have apps for travelers. These must have apps for travelers have really made my travel experience run smoothly. So, if you like saving money, navigate your way like a pro, getting good advice on trips and simply want to communicate with local, here are must have apps for travelers.
Offline Maps and Navigation
This free app will help you navigate the new city or country you are exploring. Since it works without internet, you don’t have to worry about your data usage especially when you travel outside the country. This app supports 33 languages.
Translator
You desperately want to communicate with a local or you really want to haggle the price with a seller at the traditional market but don’t know how, this app will come in handy. Just type the word or sentence you want to translate. Not sure on how to pronounce the words? Just press the speaker icon and let the app speaks for you.

If you travel internationally, currency exchange app become a necessity. By using this app, you don’t have to worry about paying more or getting duped in foreign country because you forget the exchange rate or simply not good at math.

Have you ever wondered? What is it below you when you are flying? If you have, then you should download this must have app for travelers. This app will use your phone’s GPS to pinpoint your exact location on the world. Then the app uses maps, data and cached article about your location. Then you can see and read it on your phone. How cool is that?

This one is my favorite must apps for travelers. Why? Because you can make a free international phone call to a landline in certain countries (free destination). So if you have a grandma who don’t have internet and smart phone, or you need to make emergency call to your office, surely you can do it for free even when you are on the other side of the globe. As long as they are located in free destination countries.
Yelp
Eating delicious food is a big part of travelling experience especially if you are a foodie. When you are wandering in a foreign city, you surely appreciate the advice from the local on where to eat. The best part, it’s at your fingertip.
Hotel Tonight
We’ve all been there. Long delay flight, missing a flight or simply getting stranded at the airport due to inclement weather. As we all know, booking last minutes hotel can cost a fortune. So this app will help you find a last minute hotel room while staying on your budget.
Line
I absolutely in love with this app. Not only you can communicate for free via internet, this app also offers so many adorable and funny stickers to express your emotion. It is similar to WhatsApp but better because you can also video chat using line
Google trips
One of the must have apps for traveler to organize and manage the trip. This app requires you to log on with your google account. Log in with email account where your flight and hotel information is delivered, so google trips can show you a list of your upcoming and past trip. Using this app, you can find a way on how to navigate from airport to the city and things to do.
Kayak
This travel search engine will help you find a better deal on hotel, car rental and flight. It will compare many booking sites and give you the best price. So instead of jumping from one site to another site trying to find a better price, you can just search it on kayak.
TripAdvisor
Whether you are looking for tips and advice on activities, hotel, transportation or anything in between, you will find it on TripAdvisor. All of the information you can gather here will help you plan for a better vacation.
